With the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple now has a trio of smartphone screen sizes available for the first time in its history, which means a bit more work for game developers. But in speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, many devs made it clear that they are willing to overlook that for the opportunity to publish games on devices like the iPhone and iPad.
"iOS is still one of the least fragmented spaces for games," explains Steve Coallier of Tilting Point. "There are still just a handful of hardware configurations, and adoption for new versions of iOS as they have been released has always been phenomenal." And he's right, as iOS 8 had reached nearly 50% of of all active devices after just five days of availability, which puts other platforms to shame.
