Trade-offs are made when you switch to a device with a bigger screen. One such compromise you're forced to make is giving up one-handed use in certain situations. Apple did its best to alleviate any issues for users switching to the bigger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with its Reachability feature, but it doesn't help when it comes to entering text on the larger keyboards.
Now that iOS 8 allows third-party keyboards, it took very little time for a developer to introduce a keyboard attempting to make one-handed typing possible.
